  1. Hello, I am a high school French teacher currently living for one year abroad with my 2 children and husband. I am passionate about both my content area and my students. Prioritizing good student relationships has been a game changer for me in the classroom, and I look forward to unlearning outdated education models and relearning some practices that will help encourage lifelong learning.

  5. Hi! Jessica Moeller here. I am in my 20th year of teaching at Hamlin and am currently in 4th grade. I just feel like something has to give at some point here to get kids to want to keep coming to school and to try to keep them engaged in today's world, which is SO very different from the world I grew up in! Hoping to find some help in this book!

  6. Hi! My name is Charlee Ebmeier. I taught Kindergarten for seven years and I am now a Reading Interventionist. I have been doing intervention for the past seven years. I am married with two children. My son is a sophomore, and my daughter is in sixth grade. We are a very busy rodeo family, and we are involved in our 4-H program. The kids show livestock, and we spend most of our free time in the company of horses, cattle and sheep. I am looking forward to this book study to learn how to help children, both as a parent and an educator.

  7. Hello! I'm Libby Bokelman! I was born and raised in northeastern South Dakota, but I have never taught in South Dakota. My husband, son, and I recently moved here from south central Nebraska. This is my 14th year teaching English; I previously taught 7th grade ELA for six years and 9th-12th grade English for seven years. My family now lives on the same farm I grew up on. We hope to have horses and chickens! Like Jessica, I have noticed a change in my students as learners - their attention span is not what it used to be. Additionally, what used to engage students is not the same, but that also is the nature of education, too!
